The Butcher's Crossing by John Williams is a murder mystery novel that takes place in a small, isolated town. The main characters are introduced early in the novel and each chapter tells their story. The book follows one of the victims who was taken with his family to Florida and then escapes from captivity to tell his harrowing tale of what he has gone through while being held captive.
