The book starts off with an introduction and then goes into the day-to-day life of a penguin from hatching to death.A young penguin is born, but doesn’t know just yet that he is different from all other penguins; his feathers are white and he has a pink belly. After being hatched into the world, he quickly learns to swim and fly around in his nest until one day when he meets another chick who also shares these unusual characteristics. The two quickly become best friends but with this new friendship comes difficulty because they are not easily accepted by their peers who still have trouble dealing with their own color schemes.
