This was a short, but powerful book. It was also quite a creepy one. I found myself wanting to keep reading to see what happened next and how the characters would cope with the events that befell them. I found it very suspenseful and enjoyed the way the author could make me feel so many different emotions throughout the story. The Gathering Darkness is a short but powerful book, that is also quite a creepy one. I really enjoyed this book. It is set in a world where the dark people are always able to escape from the light and steal back their powers, and then the light people are always able to protect themselves by hiding in the darkness. The protagonist, Maya, is a light person who has been living in the darkness for so long that she fears being found and caught. She was taken by the dark people as a child and must learn to survive on her own. The sequel is coming soon
I needed to write a literature review about The Gathering Darkness and The Odor Of Violet books. I read The Gathering Darkness with pleasure and got an A+ for my book review. Lisa Collicutt is a wonderful writer.
