The main character, Jamie, is a Texas Ranger with an adventurous streak. She sets up a web site for the book so that her fans can interact with her and read some of the first chapters (which are available free on line). She also interviews people about their experience with the book.The site provides links to information about the book and is used by readers to leave comments and ask questions. A message board on which readers can discuss stories from the book along with other books from her series is also available.In July 2007 she launched a blog, "Outlander" (http://www.jamieandjacksonanderson.com/blog/) to encourage fans of Outlander to write to her as she talks about writing in general and Outlander in particular.
