This is the second in a series of five books on the life and work of artist Philip Kerr. Kerr was born in Germany in 1882 and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, with his family at the age of seven. He went to high school in Winnipeg and then studied art at the University of Manitoba until he was forced to leave by his father, who was angry that Kerr was studying art. He then took a job as an assistant to the professor of art at York University at Toronto
