I usually don't read urban fantasy, but I couldn't resist reading this because I'm obsessed with the Dresden Files. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a good, solid story with great characters and an amazing twist on the werewolf mythos. My only criticism is the ending - it's a little too nonchalant, but it's still an amazing book.
What's a pitch for this book?A Victorian ghost story, a haunted city, and the start of a new urban fantasy series.Celia is the only daughter of a prominent family in the Victorian era. She has just been appointed as the head of her family due to her father's untimely death, and she is not at all interested in the life of an upper class woman. One evening she is visited by an old woman claiming to be her long-dead mother
This book was really good. I am not going to mention any of the plot twists for fear of spoiling it for anyone, but I was mildly surprised by some of the turns
I needed to write a literature review about White Night and The Center Of Winter books. I read White Night with pleasure and got an A+ for my book review. Jim Butcher is a wonderful writer.
